The Opportunity:
We are partnering with a high-growth FinTech startup in Berlin that is revolutionizing digital lending and credit scoring. As the CTO, you will be a core member of the executive team, responsible for defining the technical vision and building the engine that will power the next generation of financial services.
Key Responsibilities
- Strategic Technical Leadership: Develop and execute the long-term technical strategy and roadmap, ensuring alignment with overall business objectives.
- Team Building & Mentorship: Scale the engineering organization from its current early stage to a world-class team of 50+, fostering a culture of innovation, excellence, and accountability.
- Architecture & Innovation: Oversee the design and development of a scalable, high-performance, and secure financial platform utilizing modern cloud-native technologies.
- Product Collaboration: Partner closely with the Product and Design teams to translate business requirements into technical solutions that deliver exceptional user experiences.
- Security & Compliance: Ensure the highest standards of data security and regulatory compliance (GDPR, BaFin, etc.) are integrated into every aspect of the technology stack.
What We’re Looking For
- Proven experience as a CTO, VP Engineering, or similar leadership role in a fast-paced startup or scaleup environment.
- Deep understanding of modern software development practices, including microservices architecture, CI/CD, and cloud infrastructure (AWS/Azure/GCP).
- Strong background in FinTech, with knowledge of payment systems, credit scoring models, or digital banking.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to bridge the gap between technical and non-technical stakeholders.
- A strategic thinker who is also willing to be hands-on when necessary.
